hi all
well what a plonker am i, i ran off to Cardiff for a long weekend with my daughter and totally  missed posting this!

its mixed media time on the
That Craft Place Challenge Blog
there are some super stunning makes from the dt you seriously have to go and look at them...

ok so my make started off life as this

i tend to end up with quite a few of these having a fat spoiled kitty, lol
so i was struggling with a carrier bag full of cottons and thought i really need some place to keep these when what do i spy but a couple of these by the door ready for the recycle!

perfect i think that will do, but of course its not very pretty is it ...

so i got to work with some lovely papers and flowers and lace ect from
That Craft place
 and came up with this

the papers are Prima Madeline, it is already a patchwork print but i hand stitched all the joins, just because i like the hand made effect.

it was a little tricky sewing the corners once the papers where glued down but worth the effort i think.
the flowers and sewing theme buttons, mini button's ribbon ect are all from That Craft Place.

i added a hanger from the front flap made with heavy beads to keep the box shut

i also added 4 large beads on the bottom of the box.

the inside is lined with a pretyy script paper from the same paper line

and then in go the cottons

hope you like it guys

so next time you get ready to recycle something just take a second look you
and instead of recycle you can upcycle :)
