visible Image Molly does the 80's

hi :)
well i have no idea what came over me, i am not usually a bright in your face colours kinda gal, but for some reason today i was feeling the 80's vibe lol

i went back to an old fave with Molly from the Molly rules set
i had so much fun colouring her , really went all Cindy Lauper on her lol
of course then I'm like oh hell what do i do with her :/
so out come the inks and stamps and after some trial and error and some very inky hands i came up with a slatter, grungy, bright crazy yet somehow kinda works background...
what you think?

so on the background iv used Inkadinks water based in ink  Lilac Heaven, Cranberry sorbet and Gooseberry fool, i just randomly splashed them over the card and spritzed with water let them move a round a little then dabbed with kitchen towel so they didn't muddy or take over all the white bits. then using the Hyacinth big and juicy pad up the purple end i stamped the dragonfly randomly over the page, then up the green end using the Retro dots background i went along the bottom and up the right hand side, then again just a part of the top left hand corner.
Now i love the effect iv seen on  peoples cards with the Frantage, but alas i have none, so feeling in an experimental mood i just sprinkled some generic purple and pink cheapo embossing powder randomly over the background and heated from beneath, i wasn't sure if it would stick, but it did, and i quite like the effect.
i gave Molly some wings from the Time after Time set (oops theres Cindy again!) and finished off with the Just to brighten our day sentiment from the Chandelier set.
and there you have it my little walk down the memory lane of my eighties colour splash , and yes i really did dress in those colours!!
 till next time

Visible Image Harley the Jester

Hi guys
well yesterday i had a complete creative block, i sat for hrs with all my fab
Visible image Stamps , and nothing.....not a creative drip....
then this wonderful guy dropped through the letter box.

just look at him!
Visible Images newest character

isn't he just adorable, well i wanted to play straight away as you can imagine, and thinking outside the box i decided to make him into a jesters Marotte

first i stamped and coloured Harley in spectrum noir pens, then i stuck him onto card with Deco Mache, covering him with a nice coat to give a nice finish, then i took the Grunge Harlequin background stamp and stamped all over a piece of a 4 paper, in colours to match Harley, i then rolled it up really tight to form the stick, and covered this in the Deco Mache.

Next i stamped the Grunge Harlequin onto card and coloured to match, on the revers i stamped Harley and then fussy cut him out, i fussy but the first Harley too.
i took some coordinating ribbons and bells , sewed the bells on the ribbons and added to the stick, then i stuck the front and back Harley onto the top, and there you have it a Harley Marotte..
i quite like it considering i had no creative flow at all today i think i might just have pulled it off lol
just think of all the lovely cards etc you could make with this little guy.

anyway i hope you like it ,

hi guys
time for a new challenge at
this time we have a colour pallet for your inspiration

are they not the most yummy colours!

here is my dt make

i started with an 8 x 8 tent fold card and coloured the edges of the first layer with a spectrum noir pen.
then i layered a pretty dot paper over this.
i did the same layering with another paper and 2 different sized panels
then i took this pretty pretty Kenny k digi and coloured her with spectrum noir pens

inside i did the same layering and added a sentiment cut on the craft robo and coloured to match the edges

oh and i finished the front off with 3 small matching flowers, this is quite a simple card for me, but the image is so pretty i didn't want to overwhelm it, i hope you guys like what i did

Visible image , Create with your soul canvas

hey guys
time for my weekly Visible Image post
and this week iv got something a little different a mixed media canvas

this was inspired by Helen's stunning Create with your Soul verse, i made it as a gift for her and so the colours are her fave.
i started with an 8'' round canvas, i stamped the verse scanned it and then re sized it in My Craft Studio to fit nicely in the centre of the canvas, i chose a background from My craft Studio faded it down. and overlayed the verse then printed it onto tissue paper.
i then added this to canvas using Deco Mache matt decoupage glue , once this is dry i mixed up some acrylic to the colour i wanted and using a sponge i coloured all over the edges and gradually faded it into the centre, then i went over the words with a thin paintbrush and acrylics in gold burgundy and black, not quite mixed together to give the dappled effect.
i left it to dry and then went over the whole thing with the decoupage glue to seal it, then came the fun part of arranging the flowers and foliage, all of which i got from the lovely Lisa at That Craft place.
and there you have it , i really love making these mixed media pieces, and really need to find the time to do more.

oh and go over to the website and meet Harley the Jester a brand new fab stamp set

Visible Image in Craft stamper

hi guys its my
and this time I'm showing you some samples i made for craft stamper,

this is the colour pallet they gave us,

we had to make 2 things using just these colours and the Small rose stamp which is in the Immortal Love, Isabella lost love set and also in the Roses set which also has a larger rose in it.

i made a wall hanging and a tag

they chose to use the wall hanging

to make this i used some cardboard  ( we seem to get loads of cardboard , and i do love to up cycle) layered and glued together for strength, then i covered it in white gesso.

i didn't have any inks in those colours so i mixed some up in acrylics
i then painted the background in the pink,, then using the grey i used the Grunge Flourish around the bottom edge, then i turned it around and using the bottom edge of the stamp i carried on around the top. I then used the branch from Edward is Immortal set and the green colour just around the bottom.
next i stamped the rose in the grey onto pink paper, and using a pink pro marker i added some shade to give it a bit of depth, these roses are also decoupaged in places , i hand cut some leaves , then stamped the Create with your Soul Sentiment, and finished of with some vintage lace around the edge and as a hanger.

The tag is basically the same technique

but on this i sued the Ripped Fishnet in the grey and the Ink splats in green, and i have used the barbed wire from Immortal Love for the rose stem.its such a thrill to See your work in print!

in case you are wondering, the stamps take acrylics really well, just make sure you wash then straight away, and they come up good as new  :)

till next time
happy crafting xx

Sunday 5 January 2014

Hi guys , hope your all OK in this bad weather
today's post is for
That Craft Place Challenge
( and I'm giving you a sneaky peek shhh)

Charming

i have altered a diary.

i stared with a plain 2014 diary, then using a technique sheared by Neil Walker  on his fab blog (here)
i glued some cut out cogs to the book, then i covered the whole book in glue and then tin foil, rubbing it down around the cardboard shapes, once completely dry i used alcohol inks to colour the foil, covered the whole lot with black acrylic paint and then lifted off most of the paint with kitchen towel. (this tech is shown in great easy to follow pics on Neils blog, here).
once this was dry i then took some creative expressions gilding wax in cast Bronze and Patina, and randomly rubbed them over the the surface.
this is the naughty sneaky peek bit !
coming soon to that craft place some wonderful digi's and digi papers!!
so i took the cog border and printed it a few times, cut it out, used the same faux metal technique, and decoupaged it up

my photo really doesn't do it justice it looks so much better in the flesh.( so to speak lol)
then to finish it all off i added some clock charms .

then using one of the papers shhhh, i covered the inside of the covers , front and back

and there you have it one altered diary :).

i hope you like it and go peek at Neils blog and give this technique a go its so much fun to do and a fab finish for backgrounds etc.

till next time , crafty hugs x

Visible Image january challenge

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Lets start it off on a challenge, a Visible Image challenge to be exact :)
and everybody fave theme
Anything goes
I decided to try a layout not something that is too far inside my comfort zone
But its good to step a little closer to the edge of your crafty comfort zone sometimes.

So this is 8 x 8 white thick card base which is covered with printed tissue paper
Next I took the Grunge check background and stamped all around the edge with blue acrylic paint,
Next I used the Brick wall background and pink acrylic paint.

The castle is from the Once upon a time set, and the word Believe is from the Believe set, both stamped on tuxedo black memento ink, I then used watercolours to colour the castle.

Finally I added the photo of me in my wedding dress, and some pretty hand made flowers.
What you think?
Now over to you ,will you step a little closer to the edge of your comfort zone?
Also keep an eye out later for the announcement of the new design team members
