Morning everyone, its time for my weekly
so i had this great idea in my head for this weeks inspiration spent ages trying to get it right but it ended up i the bin, so i had to come up with something else, then i saw an advert for a movie on TV called how to make an American quilt and bam an idea was born lol

i stamped 4 2'' x 2 '' squares , the Bronte Script, small rose from Immortal Love
Butterfly, and the little pattern stamp from Immortal love (sorry not sure what its called ).
the rose was then painted with watercolour as was the butterfly, then all 4 where sponged over with Tattered Rose distress ink to take away the white white of the paper, just to soften the whole thing then it was out with the sewing kit, i coloured white cotton with BT5 spectrum Noir marker and sewed the 4 panels together, then they where stuck on with sticky pads to give a bit of dimension the card base is a glossy card to contrast with the patchwork and make it seem more fabricy (i think i made that word up lol).

inside i have used the Verse from the Sewing room set
i love how you can just take your box of visible Image stamps and mix and match all the sets etc and come up with something great each time.

thanks for popping by i hope you like this one xx

I'm here today with my dt make for the

Sponsored by

and everyones fave theme Anything Goes
well i did 2 makes actually, we where given 2 images to work with and they are both so cute
i couldn't resist using them both

so first up is

isnt she pretty
i coloured her with specrum noir and cut her out, then matt and layerd some papers in 2 shades of pink, the dipilie was cut out and added and the image added to that, then i added the ribbon folding it as i stuck it down to give the ruched effect, i made a flower using a metal flower as the bas then 2 paper flowers to build it up, i have had the butterfly trim forever so decided to cut them individualy and add randomly all over, and finished with 3 little gems.

and next we have

this was so much fun, i coloured the image and picked the shap i wanted and decided on an easle card, quite straighforward, cut cover in pretty papers layer and ther you go, but ! we need a stopper....
and off goes my brain with its crazyness and comes up with a bookworm , and of course he has to have books doesnt he lol
so out comes the paper clay and i makes a little bookworm

but something is missing....SPECS!

now these did give me a little grief lol so blooming tiny
but i think worth it cos he does look cute surrounded by all his books
( iv been asked to do a tutorial on these so keep an eye out for that )

i printed some tiny tiny library cards and scattered them all over, and to finish inside is a quote from one of my fave authors

Visible Image Immortal Love

Hi everyone
Its my Visible Image dt day
iv gone for a kind of clean and simple , but you know me i never do anything to simple lol

i have used the Immortal Love set this is a fab set and really useful i have used the rose and the words lots of time but the barbed wire only a few time so i thought id give it a treat and use it lol
i have used a glossy white card base its 6 x 6 , i then cut a strip of white card and using Fired Brick and Black soot Distress inks i coloured it using  Dream weavers stencil brushes, one it was how i wanted it i spritzed it with water, and dabbed dry with kitchen towel, then edged with the lace.
next i stamped and coloured the rose with spectrum nore markers, the barbe wire was stamped randomly over the rose, then once i had decided where the rose was going i stamped the wire onto the strip to match up, then all the wire was covered in glossy accents, once dry i added the rose with sticky pads to add dimension and give the effect the wire is holding it down.
then the strip is put on the card and the word Forever was stamped using Stazon.

and inside

for the insert i used the rose again but stamped it second generation stamping so it was faded, and then the word love was stamped in black,

and that's it one finished card :)

hope you like it guys, and don't forget you still have a week or so to get your entries into the challenge

i realised i had missed my Artistic inspirations Monday dt post!!! sorry girls,
it was all coloured ready to go onto a card but here i was thinking it was for next week!
so i gets started making it into a card to post yesterday and about lunch time i go to check
on my daughter who wasn't too good and found her with a high temp and in a lot of pain with
her throat gets me a light and peeps inside and yeah horrible horrible red & white tonsils,
so calls the doc and gets her in straight away and as i thought real bad tonsillitis, gets her back
and into bed, and off i trot to the chemist which is a 30 min walk to and and 30 mins back ,
still it was a nice day and the exercise will do me good.... :/
anyhow i finally got the card finished late last night so here it is..

Visible image...Tala Catching Dreams

hi guys I'm here with my Wednesday
and this week i was set a challenge by my teamie Pauline :)
the challenge was 3 colours of my choice,
and

so i chose, turquoise, yellow and purple. i stamped coloured and cut Tala, then i stamped the dragonfly 6 times, and coloured, then covered the wings in deco art triple thick gloss glaze, and sprinkled with glitter.
this was where i got a little stuck! what was i going to do for a background! i looked through all my papers and nothing jumped out at me, then i remembered i had bought my hubby the Encoustic art iron and waxes a good while back, about 2 years or more !! so i thought id have a play and see what i came up with, its a little tricky to get the hang of at first but so much fun . Anyway after some trial and error i finally got a background i liked, now i needed to get the tree in.. humm apparently you cannot stamp on wax even with stazon LOL, OK so that one went in the bin, next i stamped first then waxed...humm not bad but the white wax on the sky showed over the tree making it almost foggy...( now there is an idea for another make ;) )  OK so onto the next try, (I'm getting a bit more confident with the wax by now) so , stamp then wax but using clear wax with a little turquoise and purple wax for the sky, yay! it worked, so now i had my tree, i stamped the word believe and fussy cut  then stuck on the card, next the arrows where stamped and cut and stuck , this was all mounted onto a deep turquoise card base, then Talia was added , and the dragonfly's cut and layered with the top set of wings gently shaped, I'm quite pleased with it though the dragonfly's are a little darker than i wanted but even so they are sparkly and pretty lol.
on the insert i used the dream catcher and the follow your dreams,

hope you like it :)

hi guys!
i have had so much fun making this dt inspiration project for the
the theme is
Anything goes Easter
well i went for a Steam punk Easter Bonnet!!
i know i know my mind is a little twisted lol, but i think it kinda works lol

i made the top hat and covered it in some green pattern paper. the hat measured 3.5'' tall and about 5'' across the base.
next i decided to make some steam punk goggles to put on it so first step was to determine their size of the goggle  , then i rolled some cardboard int a tube to the right size and glued. then i cut this tube in half creating the side shape of the goggles as i went, then i cit 2 circles of card slightly larger than the tube, cut the centre out same size as tube for lens and snipping all around the edge i attached to the top of the tube,to cover the join and get the metal frame look i added a strip of card to rim them, once all this was dry i covered it all in tin foil and painted to give the metal effect .
using the faux leather technique i made a nose strap and some side straps, the lenses are cut from acetate and coloured with spectrum noir pens.
then i used tiny flat back pearls as rivets to decorate, and finished with a buckle at the back.
so putting the goggles aside, i set to decorating the hat, and boy did i decorate lol, loads of lace and flowers and pearl stems etc, i made all of the flowers except the yellow roses which where white and i coloured with spectrum's and then dry brushed the copper colour over the petal edges, i cut some cogs and painted to look metal, and stuck them randomly over the hat, the net was added and then the goggles to finish it all off.

i quite like it, and have to admit i do love making these little hats!
but what do you think?

we would love you to come join in with this challenge

Hi guys
Its time for the new challenge on the
Glitter n sparkle Challenge blog
theme
Lace & Pearls
I have used this beautiful bride image from Digistamps4joy
She's called
Bridal Couture

I have kept the card quite simple so show off the image nicely.
The base is a mottled beige and I added a strip of pretty pink pattern paper down the left side and wrapped it around the back for about an inch for a nice finish , on the front edge of the paper I glued  a strip of lace, then went all along the very edge gluing tiny half pearls.
The image was coloured with spectrum noir markers, then using a glue pad and a lace pattern stamp I masked and stamped over the dress and veil, the covered in glamour dust, to give a lovely lace wedding dress .

then she was cut out and mounted onto  a piece of cream card and stuck on with foam tape.

Visible Image Bookalike!

hey guys well its Wednesday and that means my
dt post
as i write this it is sitting next to me hopefully drying fast enough i can get a pic taken and on this post ready for the morning, its been one of those days, i was jogging along nicely and then i stuck the back part of the project on upside down and backwards...LOL so as i said take two is sitting here still wet!
so what is it  you must be wondering, well if its dry its this..

a bookalike storage for my stamps
iv made these before after seeing some ready made ones decorated on the graphics 45 blog, but being a little short on the old pennies i have made my own out of... yes you guessed it cardboard , hehehe.
so first i measured the stamp packet and then cut 2 squares just a little bigger than the packets, i covered them with some papers and added the stamping paint splatter and a little inking around the edges.
next i stuck the 2 pieces together with some card to make the spine of the bookalike,

this is then rolled around a bottle or something to give it the bend, for the inside i cut 2 pieces of card and glued them onto a piece of paper leaving a small gap between for the fold, once this was dry i turned it over, using a strip of paper the same size as the first side i glued just the one panel to start with , once it was dry i then bent the other panel up to give the bend you need and glued the paper to this panel,( does that make sense?)
then i moved on to covering the inside of the cover, i added the lace to the panels first so the ends would be hidden behind the inside paper cover.
OK now the tricky bit, you have to take your folded piece and glue it to one side of the cover, then run glue along the other edge and fold over the cover and glue in place... ( this is where I'm at Right now lol).
once dry you can decorate a little more, and there you have it , a cute storage solution, i thought i could have one for each category of stamp and line them up along the shelf looking stylish ( i hope!).
oh forgot to Say i also printed the Visible Image Logo and the stamp category on the spine .

opps almost forgot this is wht it looks like inside

hope you like it..

Visible Image Max rocks

 oh another month gone already!
OK so a new one starts and that means a shiny new challenge on the
the theme is
Tag It

as you can see i went with the fab Max Rocks set...hes such a darling lol
of course i had to make him a phone tag!
I started with a silver base, and rounded the corners, then matt that with black mirri again rounding the corners
then i cut a piece of white glossy card to represent the screen and stamped the birthday sentiment (i thought in this texting age it appropriate).
Next i stamped coloured and cut out Max, and added him to the tag, i did cut and stick on a button and a speaker slit but i cannot for the life of me get them to show up in the pic Grrr!.
and of course to finish it off a couple of phone dangles made from the set using You Rock and the skull, these are actually on acetate so see through but of course look white on here lol.
well i hope you like it and will join us in this month tag tastic challenge
