Hi guys , hope your all OK in this bad weather
today's post is for
That Craft Place Challenge
( and I'm giving you a sneaky peek shhh)

Charming

i have altered a diary.

i stared with a plain 2014 diary, then using a technique sheared by Neil Walker  on his fab blog (here)
i glued some cut out cogs to the book, then i covered the whole book in glue and then tin foil, rubbing it down around the cardboard shapes, once completely dry i used alcohol inks to colour the foil, covered the whole lot with black acrylic paint and then lifted off most of the paint with kitchen towel. (this tech is shown in great easy to follow pics on Neils blog, here).
once this was dry i then took some creative expressions gilding wax in cast Bronze and Patina, and randomly rubbed them over the the surface.
this is the naughty sneaky peek bit !
coming soon to that craft place some wonderful digi's and digi papers!!
so i took the cog border and printed it a few times, cut it out, used the same faux metal technique, and decoupaged it up

my photo really doesn't do it justice it looks so much better in the flesh.( so to speak lol)
then to finish it all off i added some clock charms .

then using one of the papers shhhh, i covered the inside of the covers , front and back

and there you have it one altered diary :).

i hope you like it and go peek at Neils blog and give this technique a go its so much fun to do and a fab finish for backgrounds etc.

till next time , crafty hugs x
