Once i had coloured and cut the image i stuck her down with foam pads and finished the whole thing off with some more tiny pearls.

Visible Image introduce Clara

Hi guys
how you all doing today, another week gone and time for another Visible image post, today i bring you a wonderful new character Clara....she is Edgar's young lady ;)

Isn't she fab! so sweet and sassy i just love her!
I went with the obvious steam punk theme and colours lol , she is coloured with pro markers, then cut out , the card is a 6 x 6 white base covered in some rust coloured paper which i altered slightly by taking down the opacity to soften it a bit, then put a steam punk theme over lay onto this and printed. the second layer is the same rust paper but with out the overlay. then on top of this i added a brown scallop oval and then a rust scallop frame adding pearls to each scallop to resemble rivets. i printed and cut the cogs in the same paper then once i had fussy cut them i went over them with black soot distress ink, and finished with crackle accents and more pearls ass rivetts int he centres. her goggles also have a touch of glossy accents sadly my photography skills leave a lot to be desired and a lot of the finer details are lost :/
anyway i hope you like it, if you want the fabulous new Clara stamp head on over to the Visible image website and grab yours now !

Thursday, 25 April 2013

Hello all you lovely people, hope your all well, I'm really late posting this and can only apologise , but iv been a bit unwell this week and got myself a little behind and in a pickle!
I'm here today with my first guest dt post for Simply Steampunk... so exciting

Today is the  Re launch of the Classic collection Steampunk...
I have used Child of Morella

I so enjoyed doing this card even though i had left myself no time after doing one using the wrong image! seriously people what am i like!

Anyway here it is

I have gone for purples and lavenders and antique linen shades, which sadly don't show too well in the pic :/
Anyhow i started with a purple base and used a Do crafts Chronology paper in soft lavender and black .
onto this i matt another strip of the purple card, and a layer of some silver/ purple shimmery embossed paper.
I cut out varying sized f cogs in a cog patterns paper, and edged with dusty concord distress ink, i used the same in on a doily and layered the doily and the large cog on the card, wrapped a ribbon around the belly panel and after colouring the image with pro markers i matt it onto some more of the purple card and added to the card with sticky foam pads.
using the remaining cogs i layered them to resemble a flower adding a butterfly to the centre and also to the top right hand corner, i then finished it all off with a bow and a stickpin.

why don't you go over and take a look at all the fab Design team inspiration.

Visible Image Dt post for April 20th

Hi guys, well another week has gone by, and its time for another Visible Image DT Post
you know from time to time, inspiration up and leaves us all for a while when this happens i usually spend some time browsing blogs and you tube for inspiration , and i have been seeing these top hats all over the web in different guises, from shabby chic, to steam punk and every style in between. and i got me thinking about our your Mr Edgar, he is so stylish in his top hat, so i thought ok reversal and a top hat can wear Edgar lol. (i know my mind wanders down strange pathways sometimes lol)

I made  the top hat from 300gsm black card, then covered in some papers (using colours to match my lounge lol) then i decorated the hat with black lace, beads and trim from an old jacket, ( yes it was net decorated with beads from the 80's...) :P

I made a bow from the net and added to one side with a metal cog from my stash.
moving round to the back i trimmed down the seam and added another smaller net bow

then round to the other side i used the large Feather from the Free your Imagination Stamp set, stamped onto card using tuxedo black Memento ink, and the coloured with shades of grey from the cool set of pro markers, and a little pink gem on each to bling it up a touch, then i chose some beautiful blooms from
Petal Lu's lovely new Neutrals colour sets, and used to decorate the hat before adding the feathers.

and finally i stamped ,coloured and cut Edgar, colouring him with pro markers and though it doesn't show too well his goggles and cane are painted with Platinum acrylic paint, and his goggles have glossy accent glass :).

I really had fun making this little project and now it graces my shelves in the lounge who knows maybe ill do more and have a little hat collection .....

Delicious Doodles challenge

Oh my ! i forgot to do my post for the Delicious doodles challenge !! I'm so sorry Terri !

so better late than never ! here is my DTcard for this fortnights challenge.

I have used the stunning Goth Bride and Groom, love this image for an alternative to all the sweet pretty wedding images around.
I cut the frame on my cricut and used it to draw around to make the matching easel card, i picked some lovely red and lace vintage paper from My Craft studio and  layered onto the card .
the image is coloured with pro markers and mounted onto a piece of card cut to shape, then the frame has been stamped with a lace stamp and clear perfect medium ink, which i then dusted over with mica powder.. (actually its a powder eyeshadow from the £1 shop but that's our secret lol , i didn't have a grey mica ).

I then took wedding confetti petals and handmade the roses, cut some leaves from green card and tied them all together with some black net, and added a red gem to create a bouquet, once the frame was in place i went around adding tiny red gems just to finish it off .

I hope you guys will come and play along with the challenge at Delicious Doodles Blog .

don't forget guys to go and join in this months challenge its a great theme Get Stamping, so you can just go for it as long as you use a real stamp and not a digi.

Visible Image Dt post 6th April 2013

Hi all here we are again another Saturday and its Visible Image Stamps Dt  post day :)
today i bring you something i saw someone do on you tube and thought ohhh love it ill have a go LOL

So here it is  a Peg clipboard...

Istarted off with can you believe it a cat food box, well recycle all you can guys save money and the planet ;)
I cut the box down and stuck the front and back panels together printed side in, once dry i cut to shape and covered in gesso and once dry i painted with acrylic paint, then i took a napkin pulled it apart and using just the top patterned layer i covered the board in pva and gently stuck this down. i recommend you leave this overnight to dry as it can be very delicate,
Then next day i got to stamping, i used The Sewing Room Set,i inked the edges of the board, and then went round with the zig zag stitch stamp, and used the tape measure stamp down one side, then stamped the be unique sentiment, i stamped the body form 3 times in slightly different shades and used the same napkin technique on the final one, inked around the edges of them all and layered on the board.

I took a peg and painted it in the same colour acrylic, and sealed with matt medium, made a hole in it and then made a dangler using some charms added these to the peg and stuck to this to the top of the board.
I finished off with some lace, a couple of butterfly's and some stunning blooms from Petal Lu.

I decorated the back in the same way and added a ring and a lace flower to hang this up

so why not give it a go , its a lovely little project and im sure you will find lots of Visible Image stamps to inspire you on the website

and dont forget the new challenge has started over on the Visible Image Blog

hi again :)

I'm back with my Artistic inspirations post, new challenge this week and the theme is Easter.
I have used a pretty little image form Digi Darla called Off to the Hunt

I matt the card with some burnt orange paper, then added a layer of bright flower pattern paper and a lace border, i added fabric flower trim to the edges of this and gems to the flower centres.
I coloured the image with pencils, cut her out in a circle and added this to a scallop circle  in burnt orange card adding tiny pearls to each scallop, i finished it off with flowers i have had in my stash for ages some leave flourish die cuts and a few more gems for the flower centres.

Our sponsors this week are

Digi Darla offering 5 digi images
&
Robyns Fetish offering 5 digis

Oh wow can  you believe its April 1st already!
that means new Challenge at Visible Image stamps! nice easy theme this month.. Use a Stamp.
i have used the Grunge Flourish and Dream Sentiment form the Imagine Dream Inspire set

I used a white 6 x 6 card blank, and using Inkadinks water bases inks in Avocado, Lilac Heaven, Bluebell
I dripped the inks randomly over the card and spritzed with water to blend them together, they seem real bright but as they dry they fade down to a lovely soft shades.
i did this again on a second piece of card 4 3/4 '' square.
Next i took the Grunge flourish Stamp and using the back edge i went all around the card edge in onyx black Versafine ink.

Then taking the smaller square i used the Grunge flourish to create a kind of grass / plant like effect , and again went around the edge with the back edge of the stamp.
Next i stamped the Dream sentiment and added this square to the card base with sticky pads to raise it slightly, and to finish i added 3 blooms from Petal Lu's new colour range these are Elegant Eggplant.

You could win a £10 voucher to spend in Visible image stamps, and top 3 get a blinky badge for their blog

Pop over to the challenge blog for lots more inspiration form the fantastic Design Team.
From this month on the new rule for the challenge is no Digi stamps, you must use a real stamp, it doesnt have to be a Visible image stamp, but must be a rubber or clear stamp.
