hi guys
time for the new Artistic Inspirations Challenge and the theme is 'Fur or Feathers'

my image is from Floppy Latte and is called Feather Flourish

i went for a monochrome card and kept it clean and simple to show the lovely image off

i chose a 6 x 6 '' square with rounded corners, and matt this with a soft black then a pretty pattern paper, created a circle around the image and cut out to matt onto the base, the image is actually covered in glossy accents which doesn't show too well because to get a good pic i had to turn off the flash,( the glossy was just too shinny) i made 2 tiny flowers to add to her hat, and 3 flat back pears in each corner in decreasing sizes.

our sponsor this week is

offering a voucher to spend in their store

hope you can come play along with us

Visible Image Character sets Launch on Create and Craft , june 22nd 2013

OK you guys its time .... get ready...
Visible Image Launch 4 of their character stamp set on Create and Craft at 10am, so get the kettle on and park your bums to watch the fabulous Mark & Chermaine demo some super designs for you, of course if you are reading this later and you missed it ... :/ never fear catch up TV is your friend :)

so i did a couple of samples using Max Rocks and Katie Kisses

first up is Max rocks

for this one i kept to shades of grey with just his t shirt red for a splash of colour, i have used the chain stamp on the first layer  and this stamp matches up perfectly for a continuous chain, next layer i used the skull stamp, next the padlock & key, and finlay on the circle and the tag i used the bricks, the circle layer is up on sticky pads with a gap for the tag to go in behind, for the tag i stamped the sentiment and used the bricks then i added a tiny skull and crossbones charm i had in my stash.

next i went for copper and green, i have layered the green and copper colour card and paper, then finished the layers with a wood grain paper, then i took the chain stamp and stamped onto some card, i used a scalpel to cut out the chain, then i covered it in foil tape, and cut again, then coloured with alcohol inks to give the rusty metal look, i did the same with the keys and padlock, next i stamped the skulls onto card coloured with pro markers and went over with glossy accents, cut them out and piled them on, finished off with the sentiment stamped onto some of the green card ripped out and tucked into the skull pile. Max was stamped cut and coloured with pro markers.

next up we have Katie Kisses

as you can see this is a very pretty girly set, ideal for those little girl or not so little girls cards, iv added lace and doilies and used the beautiful butterfly and flowers stamps in the sets to create lots of dimension and interest on the cards, Katie is a joy to colour, and the sentiment so pretty, just makes you smile.
i wont bore you with how i did each one, or we will be here forever lol.

so off you go , enjoy the show and don't forget grab yours early they are sure to go super fast .

good luck Mark  & Cheremaine (not that you need it )
we will all be watching

Delicious Doodles ..Stitch it

Hey guys can you believe a fortnight has passed since the last Delicious doodles post! Time is flying by...
so here we are again another challenge, and this time its
'' Stitch it ''

and i have used Voodoo Woman

i started with a black base card, and matt some lovely red heart pattern paper, next a layer of grey flower pattern paper, and the image, i added faux stitching around each layer echoing the stitches of the poppets eyes.
then being the crazy genius i am LOL i decided it would be cool to make a miniature poppet and hang it from the card.....
i finished with a ticket saying wish, after all she looks like she is making a wish LOL

i hope you like it and will come play along at Delicious Doodles Challenges

Visible Image backgrounds & News 15th june 2013

Hi guys, have a couple of things to share with you this week, first off is my Visible Image DT post, this weeks offering is using the Grunge Polka Dot background, The wonderful new Ink Splats background, and the word Inspire from the Dream Imagine Inspire sediment set.
I have kept it quite simple to show how beautiful these background stamps relay are, iv used a white 6 x 6 card blank, Then cut 2 pieces of white paper, I distressed the edges and went over them with Brushed orderly Distress ink, I stamped the Grunge  Polka Dot background on most of the lower left corner and a little on the too right hand corner of the bigger piece of paper, and then all over the smaller piece with the Ink Splats, once I had stuck this piece down I added some pretty trim along the edge joining with the larger piece, then stuck the larger piece down adding some faux stitching along the edge with  the trim. To finish I added 3 butterflies I cut on my craft Robo.

Ok next and this is so exciting for me , have you seen this months Craft Stamper magazine? Well, if you have what do you think of the fabulous free stamp this month designed by the amazing Mark from Visible Image!. its a great little stamp set with lots of those uses. I was honoured to be asked to make a sample for the magazine, along with my fabulous team mate Charmaine Smith.

I am really  proud to be part of the Visible image team :)
And Finlay you can see the adore mentioned amazing Mark and fabulous Charmaine on Create &Craft with the launch of some great character sets on Saturday the 22nd June at 10am.

Visible Image, Ink Splats & Beauty is Art, june 8th 2013

Hi guys, hope your all well
My Visible Image post this week is using the new Ink splats stamp and the word art from the Beauty is Art Set, and unusually for me it s a clean and simple design, the Ink Splats just reminded me so much of something you would see in Tate modern , what else could i do but a modern art piece.....

I'm quite pleased with it though its not my usual style ( which my son thinks is over fussy lol)
i took a black 6 x 6 card and mounted some white card on it leaving a slim border, then i stamped the splats onto a Small piece of card that is actually atc size so the recipient can keep that as an atc if they wished.
i used Broken china, Dusty concord, pine needles , distress inks. then i simply mounted it on the card and stamped the word Art.

so what do you think did i manage to pull off clean and simple ?
